Meeting the Parts We Fear the Most
One of the unique and most valuable elements of the IFS model is the healing it offers for our internal wounds, our exiled parts who hold many flavors of pain and trauma.
Connecting with exiles can be quite daunting for therapists. Indeed, our field is flooded by countless methods and theories of trauma resolution, but trauma is essentially a place of deep pain in our system, and we have many parts that are afraid of going there, of connecting with the pain, experiencing it, and possibly reliving it all over again.
Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness.
It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.
Mary Oliver

Finding Safety in the IFS Healing Steps
Our network of protectors works hard to prevent us from getting near the pain, and so attempts to go there might meet all kinds of resistance in our system.
The IFS Healing Steps are a creative and gentle process that helps first gain the trust of the worried protectors, and then allows us to connect with our hidden wounds in a loving and safe way. In this unique space of trust and care we can offer our exiles repair, empowerment and a reclaiming of their gifts, wholeness and beauty.

Exploring the Healing Steps
During “Unburdening Exiles: Exploring the Healing Steps“, you will gain:
Helpful insight into what is stopping or blocking you from getting to exiles, either in your own process or in your work with clients.
A broad understanding of why this process actually works, based on neuroscience and research-based data.
A deep understanding of the meaning and purpose of each of the steps in the process.
An opportunity to understand specific issues, challenges, subtleties and nuances in the application of each of the steps.
A wide perspective on the importance and impact this work could have on people’s lives, beyond healing.

Unburdening Exiles
Unburdening is one of the most powerful and healing moments in IFS therapy. It’s introduced in Level 1 training, but many find it challenging to fully grasp and navigate. This process is more than just a technique—it’s the culmination of deep inner work, where relationships within the system truly transform.
We created this workshop to help you overcome the challenges of the unburdening process. With Einat Bronstein as your guide, these two days are fully dedicated to exploring and mastering unburdening, giving you the confidence and clarity to navigate it effectively.
Satisfaction Guarantee
If you’re not fully satisfied after attending the first day of our 2-day online workshop, simply let us know before the second session begins, and we’ll offer a full refund—no questions asked.

Disclaimer
The IFS Institute advises that working with exiles should be done with caution. Any professional leading such work, regardless of the admission criteria for this workshop, should be at least IFS Level 1 trained and legally entitled to engage in mental health therapy in the country where they practice.
