A Week in Tuscany
The retreat takes place in Southern Tuscany, surrounded by untouched hills, organic vineyards, and historic towns. The deep immersion in this natural, rural setting offers space for both reflection and rest. You’ll have time to engage with the local, authentic landscape, enjoy Italian culture, and slow down while being part of a supportive group experience.

Inner journey
This retreat is a process of insight and inner transformation, with the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model serving as its guiding framework. The program combines daily teaching and guided experiential work with somatic practices such as movement, dance, and sound healing. The retreat setting also includes access to local places like natural hot springs and a nearby town. Space is also included for rest and unscheduled integration.
An essential part of this retreat will be a Conscious Connected Breathwork group session, guided by a certified facilitator to support emotional healing by accessing inner body intelligence.

The venue
The retreat is hosted at ASHA, a center located on 15 hectares of natural land, operating as a nature sanctuary. Accommodations are simple yet comfortable, with multiple workshop spaces, a pool, and areas for rest. The design of the space prioritizes blending with the surrounding nature and offers a supportive environment for internal work. The setting is deliberately rustic, emphasizing an authentic connection to the land.

Small group
The retreat is intentionally limited in size to allow for meaningful relationships and individualized attention. We’ll connect you with fellow participants in small triads for the Holding Space Practice, meeting weekly before and after the retreat to hold space, share your journey, speak for your parts, and connect.
Open to professionals in therapeutic, somatic, and healing fields: therapists, psychologists, coaches, breathworkers, movement and expressive arts practitioners, bodyworkers, and others working in client-centered roles.

Teachers
You will be guided by Fran Booth, LICSW, Certified IFS Therapist, IFS-I Lead Trainer, Author and Consultant, together with Jenny Hayo, CHT, C-IAYT, Certified IFS and Hakomi Practitioner, and Certified Yoga Therapist.

Meals
Meals at the retreat center are plant-based, nourishing, and created with fresh local ingredients. Many herbs and vegetables come from the retreat center’s own garden. The meals are designed to be gut-friendly and supportive of overall well-being.

Pre- and Post-Retreat Support
Pre-retreat support: Once you sign up, you’ll receive instant access to Fran Booth’s on-demand course, “Direct Access” (valued at $297), as well as a 12-day program, “Introduction to IFS”, designed by Michał Pasterski (valued at $147). About a month before the retreat, you’ll be invited to join an Online Preparation Circle, connect in triads for a Holding Space Practice with fellow participants, and receive our PDF Preparation Guide.
Post-retreat support: Following the retreat, you’ll be invited to two group Zoom integration circles – held one month and two months after the retreat – to help you deepen and integrate your experience.

Space for Rest and Renewal
This retreat balances structured inner work with time for rest and self-care. You’ll have space for optional massage, time in nature, use of the pool, or quiet time on the grounds. The schedule allows for both inward focus and deep relaxation. This is an opportunity to step away from conventional conveniences and embrace simplicity.
This was my first retreat and, in every way, it exceeded my expectations. From inquiry and registration to group sessions and excursions, I felt incredibly heard, cared for, and nurtured. The location was beautiful and the staffing so attentive.
Treisha Peterson, Somatic Parts Work Retreat in Bali, April 2023

Reconnecting with your Self
Do you seek a life filled with more natural joy, authentic expression and personal and professional fulfillment?
Seekers for centuries have chosen to “retreat” to respond to the human need and desire for healing, meaning and connection.
One of the most important aspects of a successful healing process is being able to truly connect with our Self, our bodymind and our parts. As we deepen our internal connections and our parts unburden, we heal and re-embody the original, intended state of safe, secure connection; our Self-energy flows.
The unburdening and healing of parts are possible when we have the right environment – a sacred space, spacious time, knowledgeable support and guidance.

1. A healing space
Expert guidance, caring support, evidence-based somatic processes and a small, connected community – lead to a transformative healing and learning experience.
It’s hard to deeply connect to your inner world in everyday life, with only a few short moments to look inside. And it’s difficult to hear what your parts have to say when there are numerous distractions.
What if you could leave the hustle and bustle of your daily life for one week? What if you could spend time in a remote destination, immersed in nature, with the time and attention to listen to your parts, to be with them and let them teach you what you need to know?

2. Expert guidance and evidence-based tools
We know, if you stay in your head, the analytical managers run the show. As Dr. Bessel van Der Kolk reminds us in “The Body Keeps the Score”, it is essential to include somatic practices if you want to facilitate deep healing and transformation in yourself and your clients.
During this retreat, you will receive expert guidance from two IFS leaders; you will explore and practice somatic interventions. You will discover and heal blocks to a richer, fuller embodiment of the organic aliveness within, Self-energy. You will leave with increased embodied Self-energy.

3. A circle of care and support
See yourself as a part of this group – like-minded humans who understand Self and parts, who have journeyed to a new land to create space to hold their personal system and each other’s parts.
Like the nesting dolls, we will hold space for our inner system, we will hold space for those in our circle and we will be held in nature.

During this IFS Somatic Parts Work Retreat in Italy…
After organizing and facilitating over 30 retreats, we’ve developed a format that balances depth, structure, and space for integration. During this retreat, you will:
- You will be guided by Fran Booth LICSW, Certified IFS Therapist, IFS-I Lead Trainer, Author and Consultant with Jenny Hayo, CHT, C-IAYT, Certified IFS and Hakomi Practitioner, and Certified Yoga Therapist.
- You will join healers and seekers from all over the world equally as passionate about somatics and IFS
- You will experience multiple ways of discovering and exploring parts in your body – Breathwork, dance/movement, sound bath, forest bathing, deep body connection through guided meditation, and more.
- You will acquire new insights and skills; you will return to life and work embodying more Self-energy.
- You will have the time and support to connect and attend internally, to develop strong Self-to-part relationships with places that need Your attention and compassionate Presence.
You will be in a retreat setting that includes local experiences (a drum circle, enjoying hot springs, visiting a nearby town) and a natural rhythm of rest, reflection, and embodied integration.
- Spend time in a genuinely natural, rural setting that supports rest, reflection, and informal connection with peers.
- Stepping away from daily routines here means accepting a setting less focused on resort-style amenities and more on spaciousness and nature immersion.

All of this, and much more will be a part of our 7-day Somatic Parts Work Retreat in Italy with Fran Booth. We will co-create a safe space for exploring our parts with a support of an experienced guide.

Who is this retreat for?
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) is a comprehensive integrative paradigm within which somatic practices naturally fit. This somatically focused retreat has as its foundation IFS and acquaintance with IFS is a prerequisite.
If you finished at least a 2-day introduction to IFS (or another online workshop or course), you are welcome to sign up. If you didn’t do any IFS workshops yet, we will share a 12-day online course “Introduction to Internal Family Systems” with you, for free (created by Michael Pasterski). Going through this course will provide you with a base of knowledge to join this retreat.
This retreat is mainly for:
- IFS-informed practitioners, seekers, therapists,
- Medical and mental health practitioners who want to grow their skills in Somatic IFS and other somatic techniques,
- Healing practitioners who want to pause and tend to their own systems,
- Curious practitioners who want to explore the body’s potential to heal when attended to with Presence, space and time.
A 4-month Journey

1 month before the retreat
Somatic Parts Work Retreat in Italy
18 – 24 October 2026
2 Online Integration Circles
& Holding Space Practice
Within 2 months after the retreat
Each participant will take part in one Online Preparation Circle in the month before the retreat, followed by two Online Integration Circles in the two months afterward. All circles will be guided by an IFS-trained facilitator from our team, who will also be present during the retreat. Altogether, the retreat journey spans four months, offering a supportive arc of preparation, immersion, and integration.
The Preparation Circle will help create a safe and grounded group container, foster early connection, and clarify personal intentions ahead of the retreat. The Integration Circles offer a chance to reconnect with the group, reflect on your experience, and begin anchoring insights into daily life, supporting ongoing integration and emotional continuity.
One month before the retreat, you’ll get our Preparation Guide in PDF format and we will invite you to set up weekly, self-organized Holding Space Practice with fellow participants – small groups of three to hold space for each other, share your journey, speak for your parts, and connect.

“The Integration Calls were great — not only for reconnecting with friends from around the world, but also for reminding myself of the lessons learned and the self-commitments made during that deep and meaningful retreat. The calls really help bridge the emotional gap between being at the retreat and transitioning back to everyday life.” – Mark, Somatic Parts Work Retreat, April 2025

Life changing. Absolutely wonderful all the way around from start to finish! I was so impressed with the overall experience I will definitely consider doing another retreat with Life Architect again!

Local Experiences
Set in the heart of Tuscany — a region known for its hills, vineyards, and historic towns — the retreat takes place in a setting that naturally supports both inner work and connection with the land. These local experiences complement the process with moments of presence, simplicity, and exploration. Local experiences are facilitated in collaboration with the retreat center and local providers.
Here are some of the local experiences that complement the retreat process:

A Trip to Pitigliano
Pitigliano is a small hilltop town with a unique blend of medieval and Jewish heritage. Time there offers space to walk through its narrow streets, observe its architectural details, and reflect on the layered history and atmosphere of the place.

Hot Springs
The local hot springs offer an opportunity to unwind in warm, mineral-rich waters in a quiet, natural setting. This experience supports physical relaxation and can serve as a gentle space for integration.

Visiting a Local Restaurant
A shared meal at a nearby Italian restaurant offers a taste of seasonal Tuscan cuisine. The focus is on simple, fresh ingredients and a relaxed atmosphere, allowing time to enjoy local flavors together as a group.

Nature Walk
A guided walk through the surrounding countryside creates space to connect with the natural landscape. Olive groves, soft hills, and shaded trails provide a peaceful setting for movement, observation, and quiet reflection.

Gong Bath
The gong bath is a sound-based meditation where the vibrations of the gongs create an immersive and calming atmosphere. The session offers space to settle, release tension, and listen inwardly.

Drum Circle
The drum circle provides a shared experience of rhythm and sound in a welcoming, collaborative setting. Participants are invited to engage at their own pace, exploring how movement and music create a sense of community and expression.

Silent Afternoon
One afternoon of the retreat will be held in intentional silence. Without conversation, music, or digital devices, this time offers space to turn inward and allow whatever is present to emerge and be witnessed with care.

Techniques & Modalities
Our retreats are designed to integrate various approaches and modalities. This program was carefully crafted as a joint effort of our teacher Fran Booth and Michał Pasterski, the founder of Life Architect and program director for all retreats we offer.

Embodied IFS therapy
This retreat will offer somatic practices within IFS to heal parts that may be hidden from conscious awareness.
Heal the Body, Heal the Soul.
When we bring attention to the body, we open a doorway to the unconscious layers of our parts. Somatic practices invite us to experience the inseparable connection of body and mind—not just as an idea, but as a living reality. Through embodied awareness, we create space for Self-Energy to be felt more fully and expressed with clarity, compassion, and strength.

We will integrate teachings and knowledge from the fields of:
- IFS therapy
- Hakomi
- Somatic Experiencing
- Focusing
- Polyvagal theory
- Breathwork
- Somatic Legacy Burdens
- And the field of medicine
The body is an energetic vessel, a living source of wisdom that, when gently supported, can reveal what is needed for growth and transformation.
This retreat offers guided somatic meditations and embodiment practices that deepen awareness and nurture the capacity to rest in Self-energy. As we learn to listen more fully to the body’s language, we awaken our natural ability to heal—and to hold space for the healing of others. Together, we will use the body to discover and gently be with the various parts of our inner system. Prior experience with IFS enriches this journey.

Conscious Connected Breathwork
jeConscious Connected Breathwork will be an essential part of this retreat. It’s a powerful and safe way to get in touch with our inner body intelligence. It activates and facilitates the healing process by calming the thinking / rational mind (our protector parts) and allowing for our emotions to surface.
With guided support, allowing emotions and other experiences of mind and body can be highly transformative. The practice of connected breathing causes shifts in our physiology and will enable us to explore altered states of consciousness.
We will practice Conscious Connected Breathwork in a group setting, lying on mats in a circle. Your process will last for around 90-120 minutes and will be fully guided by a certified breathwork facilitator.
The essence of this practice may be different to each group member. For some it will be the integration of previous experiences and closure, for others it may be deepening of the work done during the retreat, or experiencing embodied connection to heart and Self.

Experiential activities
And there is more. We will move our bodies and bring them the experiences they need the most. Here is a complete list of activities we will give space to during these 7 days:
- Workshops and a sharing circle
- Guided experiential exercises and small groups

During our retreats, we prioritize the well-being of all participants while maintaining a relaxed and supportive environment. We trust in everyone’s personal responsibility to contribute to a safe and mindful space. Below, we outline our approach to health and wellness during our retreats.
Before the Retreat
- If you are feeling unwell before the retreat (e.g., fever, persistent cough, body aches, or any other symptoms of a contagious illness), we kindly ask you to stay at home for the well-being of the group.
If you cannot attend due to illness, we will do our best to transfer your workshop fee to another retreat (only if your spot is filled). Otherwise, the fee is non-transferable. However, you may use the workshop fee towards Life Architect’s live and on-demand online workshops. Our library has more than 40 on-demand workshops (hundreds of hours) for mental health professionals.
- We do not require proof of vaccination or negative test results. However, if you have been recently exposed to someone with a contagious illness or are experiencing mild symptoms, we encourage you to act responsibly before travelling.
During the Retreat
- If you begin to feel unwell during the retreat, we encourage you to listen to your body—rest, hydrate, and inform our team if you need support.
- If you develop symptoms such as fever, persistent cough, or other concerning signs, we expect you to inform the team immediately and wear a mask in communal spaces and group activities to minimize the spread of illness.
- We will have masks available for those who need them.
Respect for Each Other
- Our retreat is built on mindfulness and collective well-being. Please be considerate of others, especially those who may be more cautious about health concerns.
- We encourage open communication—if you have any concerns about your well-being or that of others, please feel free to speak with our team.
This policy is based on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive retreat experience. Thank you for helping us create a mindful and healthy space for everyone!
After signing up for the Somatic Parts Work Retreat in Italy with Fran Booth you will be provided with a guide in PDF format, with practical information on how to pack for the retreat, what to do prior to the travel to avoid the so-called “jet lag” (time-zone change fatigue) and where to buy a ticket at a good price, and last but not least, what is worth seeing in Italy if you plan to arrive earlier or stay longer after the retreat is completed.
The retreat will be run entirely in English. Speaking in any other language is not required at any stage of the retreat.
For the retreat to proceed, we must have a minimum of half the participants signed up and paid (at least 14 participants). If this minimum requirement is unmet, we will notify all participants no later than 30 days before the retreat.
Meals are prepared by ASHA Retreat Center and are part of the on-site services.
All meals are paid directly at the retreat center.
ASHA offers:
- Plant-based meals with optional vegetarian additions
- Locally sourced ingredients
- Options for special diets (gluten-free, allergen-free, etc.)
On most days, three meals are served.
During the visit to a local restaurant, participants cover the meal individually.
