What is Compassionate Inquiry?
Compassionate Inquiry is a psychotherapeutic method developed by Dr. Gabor Maté that reveals what lies beneath the appearance we present to the world.
Using Compassionate Inquiry, the therapist unveils the level of consciousness, mental climate, hidden assumptions, implicit memories and body states that form the real message that words both express and conceal.

Deep healing and transformation
Through Compassionate Inquiry, the client can recognize the unconscious dynamics that run their lives and how to liberate themselves from them.
Dr. Maté will model the process of Compassionate Inquiry with course participants and instruct therapists in the practice of this powerful technique to help clients access deep healing and transformation.

Your own personal process
This will be both an experiential, participatory workshop where participants will be guided through their own personal process, and Dr. Maté will model the Compassionate Inquiry approach.

Completion of IFS Level 1 Training is not required
At the same time, you need to know the fundamentals of IFS, as we don’t offer basic didactics about the model during this workshop.
Make sure that you:
- Have completed a thorough introductory course/workshop about IFS or the IFSI Online Circle,
- Have a desire to embody the IFS Model – deepen the knowledge of your own system, and learn tools that aid you in this process.

How it works
The workshop was held live in March 2023.
The whole process has been structured so that you can go through it at any time, at your own pace. Explore almost 9 hours of video material – it’s important that you find the right space to immerse yourself in this process.
The recording contains didactics and demo sessions, so you will be able to do personal work in your own time.
Remember that you get unlimited access to the workshop recordings, which means you will be able to view them in a year or even in a few years.
This workshop series is not a Compassionate Inquiry training course, and Gabor Mate only demonstrates his approach. The official Compassionate Inquiry training opportunities can be found at www.compassionateinquiry.com.
