Richard Schwartz about Daily Parts Meditation Practice® for Therapists and Practitioners
“While the importance of this between-session work became increasingly clear, I lacked tools to give clients to help them organize this process or inspire their creativity in it.
Michelle Glass of almost all the people I knew, she had the most experience. As I travel around the world teaching IFS, I hear frequently from IFS clients who have been using the DPMP® and loving it. I also hear from IFS therapists that they not only are having good results when their clients use it, but that they are finding it helpful for their own parts work.
Either way, this book and process will deeply enhance your journey toward being Self-led." - Richard Schwartz, PhD, Founder of IFS.
What is Daily Parts Meditation Practice®
Daily Parts Meditation Practice® (DPMP®) for Therapists and Practitioners is a set of six essential IFS integration tools.
It contains tools to be used between IFS sessions, both for clients and for therapists: DPMP® Meditation, Parts Externalizations, Parts Catalogue Cards, Parts Biographies, Parts Timelines and Parts Maps.
Through these tools, your parts will trust you to fully be with your clients' parts in sessions. In addition to practitioners doing the work for themselves, you are also instructed how to use these tools with clients for both your benefit and theirs.
"Michelle Glass teaches a method of deeply integrating the seemingly disharmonious voices within,
by firmly establishing secure relationships between Self and hitherto isolated and fragmented parts."
- Gabor Maté M.D., Author, In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts: Close Encounters with Addiction

Story of DPMP® – Michelle's own healing journey
The six tools of the Daily Parts Meditation Practice® for Therapists and Practitioners were created along my own in-depth IFS healing journey. One of my top managers, Ariadne, would only unblend during therapy if I recorded sessions, transcribed them, and journaled between.
From these session entries, she quickly discovered that by cataloguing each parts’ unburdening process, journaling, and mapping our system, that my life and healing made much more sense—not only to her but to other parts. The healing of each part began to truly reflect my system as a whole.
I believe making sense is important for most systems, but even more so for those with complex trauma.
My therapist encouraged me to show my process to Richard Schwartz at an upcoming retreat I was to attend. He was intrigued and invited me to present at the IFS Annual Conference.
Preparation for this birthed "Daily Parts Meditation Practice®: A Journey of Embodied Integration for Clients and Therapists" which then turned into a book that gained huge interest in the IFS community.
Since that first workshop, the DPMP® book and workshops have been very well-received and I have traveled across the world sharing these tools. Now, you get to learn them in the comfort of your home/office.

A detailed description of experiential activities:
Please note that the teacher will respond to the needs of the group and because of that, the chosen activities may change
-
Guided meditations
Guided meditation is an internal practice that you do with closed eyes, following the teacher's voice. The teacher will invite you to sit back, relax, and focus on your inner world. You will meet your parts, talk to them, and often learn things you weren't aware of before. Guided meditation can allow you to do a significant piece of inner work.
-
Q&A
Each of the workshops will have space for questions from the audience. If you buy a recording of the workshop, you will have access to the recording of the Q&A session that took place live during the workshop.
-
Personal practice (ex. journalling)
Personal practice means working on your own, usually with a piece of paper, after hearing the instructions explained by the teacher. These exercises may be various - sometimes you will be invited to communicate with your parts by journalling, sometimes you will do a drawing exercise (like mapping your parts). Other times you will get a more complex set of instructions and 10 or 15 minutes to do a piece of the process on your own.
-
Pre-recorded demo sessions
Teachers show videos of sessions that they have recorded in the past. The sessions are related to the topic of the workshops.
-
Soul Collage®
You can create and read one or more SoulCollage® “committee suit” (i.e. part) cards for your own system, useful for countertransference.
